A TT is best, but not necessarily an auto. It depends on what you want to do with it. For roadracing, autocross, etc a 6spd is best. An auto is only best for drag racing.

Unfortunately, I've never imported one so hopefully some of the other members here will chime in.

In the meantime, if you have any other questions about the Supra itself, please feel free to post them.

Well i mean i know that autos are a bitch to fix when it comes to tranny problems.
But i dont know yet what i will do to the car.. if anything ... because supras...especially RHD are so rare at this moment in BC, ill keep it clean and for show psossibly.. and take it to the track a few times.( drag ) Ill do the brains before beauty obv. But if anything... it will be drifting ill get it into.

For drifting, a 6spd is far better than an auto.

It's because you can select the gear you need to use to leave a corner, in advance of hitting the corner. The driver (i.e. you) get to pick the gear you're in ahead of time. There's really no good way to do this with an (oem) auto, since it doesn't always shift up or down exactly when you want it to - the computer controlling the valve body picks the gear you're in, depending on the engine rpm, load, and a whole host of other factors.

I haven't imported one yet, but I've been talking with importers for 2 years (i'm from Canada too) so if you have any questions, just ask! I can certainly answer most of them!
