mkiv supra max rwkw on original turbo?
Hi to all, I'm new on this site and was wondering how much rwkw could i push out of my 96 original sequential turbo with modifying the internals/wheel etc. I own the jap spec model which has the 440cc injectors and the ceramic turbos. I wanted to achieve 350rwkw is this possible? I find it hard to believe but Ive heard that people are getting the original turbos to have up to 450rwks with high flowing them and replacing the wheels with larger titanium ones. I want the car to look and be as original as possible even if it means less power. Thanks

With brand-new oem us-spec turbos, a brand-new shortblock, race fuel, and LOTS of supporting modifications (eg. BCC, downpipe, wastegate disable, fmic, cam gears, fuel controller, dyno-tuning, etc., etc.), about 475rwhp has been achieved through a us-spec 2ja-gte and a 6spd. However, this is an exceptional result achieved very very very rarely, with only a couple of extremely low mileage Mkiv Supra TTs. A more typical result is 425rwhp, on an mkiv tt 6spd with ~50K mileage or so. Lastly, note that it's proven difficult (if not impossible) to reliably modify the oem twins with bigger wheels. The oem shafts are just too thin to support a larger wheel. If you want 500rwhp, you'll fiind it MUCH easier to achieve with a 'modern' single turbo (advances in turbo technology have allowed an appropriately sized single to spool almost as fast as '92-technology sequential twins). Sorry I don't have any similar figures for Japanese-spec oem turbos. Perhaps other member(s) can post?
