Default Master Warning Light

I haven't bought a MkIV yet, just test drove one. I am just researching and learning before I get one.The one I drove has this light /!\ on even when I was driving. Is it normal? What does it tell you if it's on all time? What is it supposed to be normal?

Thanks,

Nope that's the check-engine light. It's throwing an ecu code. What year is it?

Hmmm...here's a link to the US-spec codes. I have no idea whether or not they're similar in the JDM:
MKIV.COM

If you find out whether or not some of the codes are the same, please post the info here. Thanks in advance!

^^^ For sure brother. My is silver and is almost bone stock except an aftermarket cat back. (Some small JDM brand) No special plate up front but the left over front plate bracket is still there....opps. Still trying to get all the fluid out but work and life are just little too busy right now. Oh well, there's always the whole winter time in the garage. ha ha. Take care.
