650rwhp and good drag radials (running about 12psi of tire pressure) will be more than enough to get you into the 11s. In fact, there is a very small number of 'bpu' (stock turbos, and stock auto tranny) mkiv tt's that have gotten into the high 11s! If you want to get deep into the 10s or 9s, you'll likely need to go to an aftermarket transmission like the ones that Moy posted above. I commend your choice to stick with an auto - it's going to be faster and more consistent for drag racing. Custom tuners (eg. Sound Performance) can set up an aftermarket ecu (eg. AEM, Pro-EFI, Autroinic, etc.) to control VVTi, and a built oem auto tranny.

About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners. Last edited by pwpanas; 10-20-2008 at 02:38 AM. |
