New to MK4 (Auto TT to 5-or 6 Speed TT?)
I'm presently in the market for a Supra MK4 2JZ Auto, only because I can't afford a 5 or 6 speed manual. I'm looking to purchase a JDM (Right Hand Drive) 93 Supra MK4 2JZ TT with an automatic transmission for under 11,000. My question is what would it cost to get a 5 or 6 speed transmission swap??? (not me doing the labor)
Or is it better to turn a NA into a TT or T??? I would really appreciate the advice, thanks Last edited by Mattz32; 11-01-2008 at 05:26 AM. Reason: not right |

2) The TT is a far more capable overall car (the TT has better brakes, suspension, transmission, diff, etc.,etc.) 3) The swap from auto to 6spd is expensive. Please review this link: MKIV.COM 4) It's better to start with a TT in the first place (it's completely not worth it to try to turn an n/a into a full TT). 5) The auto TT is quicker in the 1/4 mile than the 6spd. The 6spd is only better for roadracing.

1000hp
Has there ever been a TT auto with 1000hp, or are those kind of numbers reserved for a 6speed? The price I've seen for the 6swap is 7,000 G's or so labor included, which in my opion is not too bad. Is this figure for mostly new parts or used? Also because I'm importing this from Japan, how much can you get a 6 Speed Transmission for from Japan?
