Default Need Help In Deciding To Buy A Supra

Hey Guys i thought this forum would be great to get my questions answered. Ok im 17 and as i am not allowed to drive any turbo cars thanx to the Australian Laws i am thinking or buy a non-turbo supra as i have not been in any supra i would like to ask:
  1. what kind or performance do they give out
  2. how realiable are they
  3. What kind of milage do you get out of them
Im am thinking of going to check this supra out: http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/TOYOTA/SUPRA/details.aspx?R=6766742&postcode=2099&Make=TOYOTA&_ _Ns=pCar_Price_Decimal|0||pCar_PrivateSpecialFlag_ Int32|1||pCar_ImageCount_Int32|1&__N=4294962861%20 4294962110%201216%20834%20285%20257&sort_type=2&di stance=100&silo=1003&seot=0&__Nf=p_GeoLocation_Str ing|GCLT%20-33.74671%2c151.2796%20102.1&Cr=2&__Nne=20&trecs=77 &Model=SUPRA&__sid=11FB8CF4A03E
as it is cheap and looks good and has all the mods that i would do already installed. Your help would be thankfull as its either this supra of im thinking of buy a 99' wrx

p.s what should i look out for if i decide to go and check this supra out

Unfortunately, the non-turbo Mkiv Supra is not an outstanding performer. Take a look at these stats:

For what it's worth, my advice is to save your $ for a TT, and any upgrades you plan to do to it. In the meantime, spend as much time as you can at kart tracks and on simulators (eg. GT4 on the PS2, or Forza2 on the XBox360) to hone your driving skills. Most of the simulators allow you to upgrade your cars - try creating a maxed out single turbo Mkiv Supra, and you'll see how tough it is to drive. The power in turbo cars cause their behavior under acceleration to almost seem erratic. Spend the time it takes to get used to this and by then you may be ready to own a TT (and old enough too). I don't mean to put you off, but at the same time I wouldn't want you to get an n/a and have that be all you ever experience in the Supra world. If you want a truly special Mkiv, you'll need to get a TT. Imho.

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
