Default Thinking of buying a used modified Supra

Hi everyone im new to the whole supra world but i think i am getting hooked. Anyway i'v been looking into buying a supra and i was wondering about this certain supra i recently looked at. It is a 96 supra single turbo and it has a t67 turbo. The engine has been built and has 10k mile and it has a boost logic transmission with less than 3k miles on it i also believe it has a methanol kit and many other mods i just cant remember. The car puts down 650whp. Now the owner wants $30,000 for the car it is in great condition and it was garage kept i would just like some input if possible on what some of you guys think. THANK YOU

Concerns:
1) You don't need to 'build' the engine to handle every bit of power and boost you can squeeze out of a T67. The oem 2jz-gte, bone-stock, is more than capable of handling it. That engine was likely rebuilt for other reasons (eg. the owner ran insufficient octane to support the boost level).
2) 650whp with a T67 and an auto tranny is quite a lot of power. What cams is it running? I'd ask to see the dyno sheet.
3) What's the total mileage on the car? ...and are there maintenance records back from before it was converted to single turbo?

Regarding any modded car - it all depends on the quality of workmanship. You need to get an objective 3rd party to inspect the modifications before you make an offer...either that, or if ALL of the work was done by a reputable shop, you should ask for those receipts.

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
