What is a turbo blanket used for?

Two things:

1. Helps keep the heat in the exhaust system ... which in turn maintains overall exhaust energy ... which is used to spool the turbo.
2. Helps protects the rest of your engine bay from the heat of your exhaust system.

It also makes the engine bay more appealling to the eye. There's nothing I hate more than a rusty uncoated exhaust housing...
