The oem Mkiv TT rear sub is an oval-shaped speaker, about 5" average diameter. The door speakers are about 3 1/2" (approximately - I'm going from memory here). Which "one" did you want to replace? The sub? If so, a good 6" sub will help...and can be done without too much trouble. Anything more than that is up to your personal preference (i.e. how much more bass you want than stock). http://www.wickedcas.com/gallery/v/m...reo06.jpg.html

my stock sub is blow from the owner before me. so i wanted to change it. to a kicker 6.5. U thing that would be much trouble. I also going to change the amp. This sub is 2ohm and 300 watts. I would be happy with that. I was going to do a custom box. but naaaa. Trying to keep it stock look as much as i can. thank you for your time.

http://www.wickedcas.com/product.php...6&cat=3&page=1 ...very stock-like. Very stealth. Great quality sound - MUCH better than stock. Targa still fits. Easy to install.
