Default 94 JMD Supra idle problem.

Hey I bought a 94 JMD Supra and its doesnt idle just right.
i heard rumours about maybe it has to be tuned because the
tuning in japan doesnt run just right in North America.
Can anyone give me any direction?

TT or N/A? 6spd or auto? Could you post a pic of the engine bay?

My first suspect would be a vacuum leak ... anywhere within your charge-air system. Most likely you should start with the intercooler piping kit - for example, sometimes a t-bolt clamp can squeeze a pipe so hard as to dent it, which can in turn cause a vacuum leak. Do you have the tools necessary to pressurize your charge-air system?

Default Mine too

Mine used to idle funny as well, turns out I had a leaky valve.

Could do a compression test, or unplug the fuel pump and wait for it to stop and crank it. Should have an even turn over, a quicker turn every now and again means bad compression in one cylinder.

Hopefully its not that!

I take it you have an aftermarket ECU where you mention tuning in Japan?

Finding a vacuum leak is easy - just pressurize the charge-air system.
