Buying A Supra

Hey guys Im new here and so I need some info from you guys. I've been looking at buying a Supra for awhile, not to race it around but because I love how they look. Problem is though I don't know how many miles are to many for one that hasn't been raced around. Ive found a '94 non-turbo automatic with 120,000 miles on it. I know Toyota's are reliable but I dont know how reliable. I'd prefer not to have to do an engine change just because of the cost so I want to know If that is to high of milage and to keep looking or buy it how it is. Thanx for your help

Well... the 2jz's are pretty much bomb proof in stock form...typical toyota reliability. 120K miles is pretty high for that year...but it should be fine since the 2jz's are far better engines in the reliability department.

How much are they asking?

They are asking 13k for it but Im gonna try and talk him down to 12k or lower if I can. I just need to know if it will last me through my 4 years of collage left so I can afford to do swap after.

that's pretty reasonable actually... it should last you through college, but the bug is gonna hit you hard once you start driving it, you'll want to drive it harder and harder until you want more out of it that it can give stock... so it might become expensive in the end. If it's in great shape, has been taken care of, and all the oil changes, ect have been done on time, it will be a great car. DO take care of it though, clean it, change the oil on time, use the proper grade gas (premium is best), and it will last you for a long time unless of course you get into an accident or something...
