Differences in 93-98 TT's
Hi everyone,
Just joined the forum, and have been reading as many posts as I can. I am thinking about buying a 93-98 TT, and had a question I haven't found an answer for yet. Is there a difference in any of the Supra's as far as durability and reliability in the drivetrain (transmission, differential etc)? I was hoping to find a 6 speed, and was told that the 94 and 95's were built with slightly better parts than the later models. Does anyone know what these differences would be? Any reason to choose one year over another, for both the auto and 6 speed TT? thanks |
im not sure what the differences actually are but i know the 93 and 94 supra tt had a little bit beafier rear differential. the 93-96 6 speed used a v160 tranny and the 97 and 98 used a v161. not much differences between the two trannys. just the length of the gears. hope this helps

The '96+ Abs system is not as feature-rich, but the engine bay is a bit cleaner. Of course '96+'s are OBDII vs OBDI. Other than that, they're all the same. |
Thanks guys, appreciate the info.
