Well, I'm jealous now. Please post pics of your manifold as you develop it.

By the way, have you read "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell? It may help your wastegate port design...

New Tig Welder

Ebay manifold I bought for reference on making a jig to build my own manifold. I hope no body actually runs one of these things. can you say restriction and can you even call that a collector?

Nice work on the collector, and thanks for posting these great pics!

If you don't mind a suggestion, I'd advise against using that ebay manifold as a template...even for a jig. To begin with, it's a poor copy of an HKS T04R/Z header, with an absolutely terrible wastegate port design. Secondly, there's really no need to position the turbo exactly as HKS chose to mount it. The best way, to me, would be to put the engine into an engine bay and use the inner fender, firewall, motor mount, and hood as your only restrictions. Be sure to leave room for a proper wastegate exhaust flow, your downplipe, your intercooler pipe coming off the turbo, and your intake air plumbing. It's tougher to do it this way, but you won't be restricted (or corrupted) by the significant limitations of that design. Regardless, I wish you good luck in your very ambitious project.
