gear box noise 98 supra

hey my supra makes a rattling,clunking noise when you put it in first and let the clutch and when you change from first to second, the noise can be heard from out side the car clearly,has any one heard of this problem.

I've driven and been around literally hundreds of Mkiv Supras ... many of them 6spds.. and I honestly can't recall hearing a noise like you've described. Did you have any work done on it recently? If I were to guess, I'd say the noise is either an improperly installed clutch or a loose exhaust component (the oem exhaust is connected to the transmission with a brace). Can you upload a .wav or video so I can hear the noise?
