Default Engine locks at high rpm

When I run the engine close to the rev limiter the engine just locks briefly.
Thought it could be something to do with the valves not opening far enough to let the exhaust gasses out.

I'd appreciate any suggestions, and if you need more info just let me know

You're going to have to explain precisely what "locks" means to you. To me it's a seized engine and those aren't a temporary issue.

Well it seems as though the exhaust gasses can't escape fast enough so some of it stays in the cylinder through the next intake and compression stroke causing to lock, a friend called it compression lock but I'm not real sure haha

No, this actually completely locks the drivetrain and the wheels for a brief second, if it was fuel flow it should just rev down shouldn't it?

I'm pretty sure it could be. Kuz when I was doing some mods on my cars and hit fuel cut it felt like I hit a wall real quick and then kept going. And ya it happened when at high RPM. What mods have you done to your car?

I think it just feels like it, not real sure lol. There aren't any mods atm so it could be fuel flow then

No mods at all? Not even to raise the boost? With a 100% bone-stock Mkiv Supra Turbo, you should never hit fuel cut...unless perhaps your wastegate VSV or your wastegate actuator is malfunctioning.

I agree with the others - if you are running more than oem boost levels, fuel cut does feel like you just ran into a wall.

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
