Import Mark IV RHD Supra

I'm from the United States and was wondering can a RHD supra be imported. I have done some research and it is not of the list of "nonconforming vehicles" which means crash testing would be required. How can this vehicle be imported. I live in Michigan and would buy it in Canada and bring it across. Any ideas?? I would have to fill out 6 forms and do EPA testing on the vehicle. The reason I ask is because on ebay right now there is a RHD supra for sale that is registed in Texas...

I'm very interested in this too. Please keep us informed if you learn anything.

If I do pick this thing up, should I trailor it across? I assume so. Any words of wisdom? I'm going to take a look at it next friday!:grinking: Anyone know of how to obtain crash test data for RHD? I tried calling Toyota out in California and they had no information.

I'd recommend going up to the US border crossing immediately after crossing (but not across back into the US). At the border crossing, talk to the border control agent(s) about your plans to import an automobile and I'm certain they will help you with the proper procedures.

You also may find useful information here:

For example, this looks like a good article:
