Hi guys, i just bought myself a 1994 n/a auto Supra and at first glance it seems great, only problem is the heads blown and i know i'll be needing a new gasket, so my main question is will the Head Gasket for the Turbo engine work on a N/A engine, i'm only asking because the turbo head gasket seem to be cheaper. Also if anyone knows anything or has changed the head gasket before is there anything i should know or watch out for when changing it?
Thanks Brad Hi, has anyone on here replaced their head gasket before and does anyone here actually have any for sale, along with valve seals and the stretched bolts. Also is it possible to use the Turbo engine head gaskets on a N/A engine, so are the gaskets the same or are they different. And if anyone has done this already is is there anything i should know? Tips or things to watch out for, and does anyone know the bolting order and how much the bolts should be tourqued ect?? If there is a guide anywhere which i haven't seen sorry for missing, but a link would be handy. Any help appreciated. Thanks Brad |

Yes, the head gasket for the 2jz-gte will work on an n/a engine. Get the TSRM for doing any work like this on an Mkiv engine... |

When i bought the car, the head gasket had blown already, so it needs replacing. I plan to plane the head down a little as it would have warped and replace it with a thicker gasket to make up the space, but how much thinner gasket would work, like normally how what thickness is the gasket and how thin of a gasket would you replace it with. As i will add back on the thickness to that depending on how much a plan off the head.

Ok i will try to get that. But also i have found a cheap Head Gasket for the Supra and the part number is 11115-46052 but i've heard those are for the 1997 Supra onwards and mine is a 1994 which people say use the 11115-46051. My question is will the 97 onwards one still work on mine.

Any large Toyota dealer could probably check on those part numbers for you. They can sell you the TSRM too. If you don't mind, I'm still very curious about that blown head gasket. Can you share any details about how it happened? For example, were they spraying nos? A bone-stock 2JZ head gasket just doesn't go bad. |
i'm not sure on how it happened, as i bought the car like that
