NA to TT swap
Hey, I have been searching around for a long time and pretty much all I have found is that it can be done. However, i was looking for a little more information on how to do it and parts that I need. I currently have a 1995 Supra NA 5 speed and I want to put a twin turbo 6 speed in. Has anyone done this before than can give me a quick walkthrough on how to do it, or know of any good websites that give a step by step on how to do this? Thanks for all of the help.

HAVE BIGGER CAMS INJECTORS BETTER TURBOS.. i THINK ALSO EASIER TO SWAP.. BUT BESIDES CAMS INJECTORS AND STEEL TURBOS ENGINES ARE THE SAME... I WOULD GET USDM ONE THO. |

The Sad truth.....
I recently purchased a JDM 2JZ-GTE Rated @ 280 hp. I was going to leave the engine J-spec because.....its easier like that to just drop it in. Unfortunetely there are no connecters that go from the engine to the Engine bay fuse Box. Furthermore there is a connector on the harness that does not fit anywere onto the Us-Spec supra. This connecters consist of some 60 wires.....Also 2 of the 3 connectors to the ECU are present on the wireharness. The third either connected another ecu or was just imbedded in the j-spec body. It looks like im going to return the engine to the JDM depot or cought up around 6 more g's to get the engine stripped down and rebuilt to US-spec. I got lots of pics of it if anyone wants to see. I assure though, to the average mechanic its hopeless. |

I'd also mention that the VAST majority of JDM 2jz-gte's available for sale in the US are from Aristo's (and not from Supras). As a result, there are a few physical differences between the two engines, including the oil pan. I agree it's a tough project, but doable for a good shop experienced in Mkiv Supra Turbos. For example, I've personally seen a number of these completed Mkiv Supras with US NA->JDM TT from AAP Motorsports in Atlanta, Georgia, US. Again, it's doable but I agree it's far from an easy project. |
Know any good shops in the California bay area? Im thinking about taking my car to this guy from Supracharged.com. He has done multiple j2z engine swaps aswell as 7m's. Sp-Engineering gave me a quote for 17,000 for parts and labor which is frightening. I just want it done correctly while at the same time not losing a few arms and a leg.

Bay Area, Fremont, close enough to sacramento. The guy from supracharged, has swapped 2jz's and 7m's into Tacoma's and 4runners. Considering they werent meant for those trucks, I give the guy props and think that meybe putting a GTE into a NA wouldnt be too hard for him. Lemme know what info you got about this shop in Sacramento though. Thanks!
