Default Supra for me???

Hello Gents-
I have been into drag racing muscle cars(mainly mopar) for about 15 years now, hate to say it but i am getting tired of it and want a new kind of kick! I love the looks of the supra (and reputation!) and durability of toyota(had a 86 P/U for years and sold it in mint condition with 458,000 mi.s on it!!!) I want to focus on handling instead of straight line and force fed small engines instead of N/A big blocks.I am used to 500 h.p on a daily basis, and have driven 1500 h.p drag cars,so I like to think I can handle power!

Is the supra for me? I am 6'1 220 so I need some room(which I heard is no problem for guys my size) and I just want a badass daily driver that blows away cobras and vettes and handles like its on rails! What do you guys think? If yes which model should I look for(I want the 93-98 body style) I have about 20k to spend(for now) Also not that it matters, but what kind of fuel miliage would I see in a 500 or 600 h.p supra? as long as its better than the 10 m.p.g that I get in my Duster I will be happy!
thanks for any input!

Well for 20grand and you want the 93-98 you miles well go with the NA supra. You may be able to get a 93-94 but I doubt it. Plus after your 20grand it will be stock. A 200dollar mod like a boost controller can make it from 320 to mid 400's. Thats the great thing about supras. Also their stock motors are meant to handle over 800whp. Which with a mopar is impossible. And the handling is by far better the style is better and the the gas mileage is better.

However, if you are going into circuit no matter how powerful of cars you have driven on the drag strip you are in for a whole new learning curve. I call drag the racing for dummies. No offense. I was/am a drager but I have also experienced almost all racing genres and conditions. IMO the hardest is snow rally. Drag is by far the easiest form of racing. All you have to do is get off the tree consistently and make sure you dont miss a gear. So you will have to learn how to handle this power in a whole different perspective in other forms of racing.

A 200dollar mod like a boost controller wont help if its a NA.
