Supra or Nissan 300zx??? Whats Better?!!!
 

Hello, I am thinking about getting two cars eather the Supra or the Nissan 300zx...Whats your opinion for whats better? Reliability? I am leaning toward the supra just because its so well respected..And how much do you think it would be for a 93-95 supra n/a.

You are on the right track. Prices will vary due to condition, mileage, and who the owner is. However, I would venture to say between 13-20grand. Its just a estimate.

A supra is a much more respected and revered car than the 300zx ever will be.

Having owned three 300zx's (2 NA's & 1 Turbo) and now a Supra NA, and think I can probably offer some input on the situation.

The 300zx is a GREAT car. I loved all 3 of mine. The power with the TT is there and there's A LOT of potential for these car in the speed and handling portion. Granted, this potental does not compare to the MKIV TT. Basically, it's going to come down to what you want, and what your goals are. If you're on a budget and want to go fast, a twin turbo Z is probably your best bet. If you want something "newer and updated" with a stylish appeal that you don't see everyday, consider the NA Supra. Basically a well built TT Z will cost the same as a stock Supra NA. I sold my Z for $8,600, and bought my Supra for $9,600. (Granted this was after months of searching, and I ended up getting one hell of a deal) but that should give you some idea on price.

In my case, I've always wanted a Supra, and was able to sell my Z TT to buy my NA. The Supra fits me better and I love driving it. Going from the speed and power of the Z down to the Supra took some getting used to, (which is probably why I'm in the process of piecing together a 2jz-gte swap) but I'm in love with how the Supra drives, rides, and handles. One day, I think I'd like to pick up another Z. But then again, I've owned a few cars that I've really liked.

A good condition NA can be had for around $13,000. A good condition TT you can usually find for about $22,000

They both are sexy cars. The 300ztt, not many have taken it past 6-700hp. But trust me it will survive. Imho, the 300zx tt has the same potential as the mighty 2jzgte supra, built and un-built. I've witnessed it. Im a Supra guy, but worked on a few of these underdogs. The 300z tt's internals are very strong. They actually look a little beefier side by side with the 2j's and Rb26(con rods). The factory pistons have good metallurgy also. I can take some pictures. Also, the high power for a stock block vg30 capability(550+rwhp) is still there like the 2jz. Its just room for bigger turbo(s), oil cooler(s)/intercoolers, and tons of tuning. Either way you go, either can turn out really well.
