I will have to post pics of the body later. First have to reduce the photos in size. They won't upload here.

Very nice power train. I actually found this by googling "2jz to 01e adapter". I was thinking about outsourcing this to BNC, but might just use your local engineering co. Did they indicate a rated capacity for torque, power, weight, etc.?
Is motor stock or built? Trans? I'm in design mode right now, and both components seem to be just about bullet proof with the right mods. |

Motor is standard. I have already bought a Garret GTX35R turbo and will be using a local ecu (Dictator) to try and get to 800 BHP. Already bought a 100mm throttle body etc. Also LS1 coils. Remember I am located in South Africa. New Engineering reckons the custom 2 pack clutch is good for 1000BHP. Not sure how the 01e would stand up to that though. What I have heard at the local race track is that I should not have any problems. Cheers. Jackal |

Yes, I read the clutch is rated plenty high but I have a nasty habit of installing clutches that are stronger than the assembly and snapping bell housing bolts and/or cv shaft bolts. (Just had to replace stock bolts on a4 fwd 1.8t 5sp running 25psi). From what I've read, the general consensus is that the 01e can take a 1000+hp beating and just as much torque. I was curious about the adapter itself...presumably it would have to be pretty thick to handle that much power and that assumes the load of a small car. My application is a heavy full size pickup. Many CNC/engineering companies here stateside shy away from this type of custom work citing "liability concerns". Do you have a build thread started for this? I'd love to see it as it progresses. |

I have threads on www.gt40s.com under Wings, wheels and keels if I remeber correctly. Search for "Vigilante" I also have a thread on www.supraforums.com under builds and projects. The adaptor plate is 25mm thick if I remember correctly. New Engineering does various engine and gearbox combinations. The owner drives a 1jz landrover and he is busy with another for his wife with a 2jz. So he knows his story. He is alo going to make my side shafts which he gives a life time guarrantee on. If I break one he replaces it. ![]() BTW, he does all the side shafts for the racing guys at Killarney race track in Cape Town. He hinself races there too. I found your GT40 build thread. VERY nice. Kudos to you, my friend. I enjoyed seeing the changes in direction as the build progressed. BTW the MB 6.0 V12 would have been awesome, but I reckon your 2jz choice is the best. I had a similar idea, then opted for the simplicity of japanese design over the complexity of German engineering. Posting link for anyone else who might be interested. http://www.gt40s.com/forum/wings-whe...e-project.html |
