i'm planning to get a supra as my second car...in about 3 years...lol, i wanna plan early. so...i just have some questions.

1.) is the sport top standard?
2.) what is the overall best year?
3.) are they dependible(i need it to get me to & from school every day...my school is 10 miles from my house and my parents are still in bed when school starts)
4.) i was thinking of a '98 twin turbo, if it's a manual, it automatically is a twin turbo, right?(i read it here but wanted to double check)
5.) someone said to get the '97, is it better?(i figured i'd get the'98, because if there were any problems with earlier years, they'd be fixed...and that's one less year of being on the road)

we are in the same boat. i am 18 and finally bought a supra in aug. i love it but it isnt a twin turbo.

i can answer all your questions to this.
(1) the sport top (targa top) isnt standard, u need to find one with it
(2) 97 or 98
(3) toyota is the most dependable car to date (besides a mercades or bmw) the supra will last from 270,000 Miles to 330,000 miles depending on how well u baby it. and maintenence, there is barely any.
(4) no, if u get a 5-speed, it isnt a twin turbo. i think all the years of supra twin turbos had 6-speeds except 96.
(5) either year is really good but plan to pay $22,000 to $50,000
