Getting my 1st Supra

Well I'am 18years old right now and thinkin about getting a Surpa not really a fan of a turbo do to insurance reasons....
My currently daily driver is a 2001 Sunfire with 48,000km/30000miles
The sunfire is a great car just got a few problems with it like the dashboard service, abs, traction controls are all on... I got the car when I was 17years old from a Dealer Auction for $2300CDN/$2760U.S I fixed the car myself in my uncles bodyshop, the only thing I didnt do is paint my uncle did that the rest of the work was done by myself.... The car is clear title still...
Well anyways onto the Surpa I still need to do research and all but whats the best model/year to get...I know its all depending on the previses owners care of the car and service records... But whats really the best year of MKIV Supra?

Hope people will be helpful and not cut me up...
Cheers Mikey

All the us-spec Mkiv's from '93 through '98 were almost identical. Mileage, maintenance, vehicle history, and a thorough inspection are far more important than picking a specific year.

Don't worry... the only people I've seen get "cut up" are the ones that try to post like they already know it all (despite the fact that they don't own a Supra and never did a modification to a Supra themselves). Your question is genuine and you have nothing to fear. About the only thing I'd suggest is that you probably could have found out that '93.5s through '98s are all more or less identical by doing a bit of searching in the archive of this forum and other sources like mkiv.com.

US-spec 1993=1994=1995 for the most part... and the only real difference between '96 through '98 is that they're ODBII emissions...but they're all ('93.5-'98) nearly identical from a performance perspective. There really is no reason to have a "favorite year"; for example, a well maintained '94 with equivalent mileage is a much better choice than a poorly maintained '95 or '97...
