97 N/A turbo
 
hey i am getting a 97 supra N/A that has a turbo kit. i am jw what i could do to build the motor up for boosting with out going all out and getting a 3.4l stroker kit? i found a kit with eagle rods and wisco pistons give me a 9:1 compresion. if i went with that should i get a forged crank or just one off a turbo car? what about the head? will that head work or will i need a better flowing head? i know that i will a better headgasket if i plan on boosting alon.

Even the 2jz-ge does not need any preparation for boosting unless you're going for over 750rwhp or so... And the 2jz can easily put down those #s at relatively low boost levels...so why are you looking at stroker kits? In general, stroker kits are used on the 2jz-gte for applications at or near 1500hp+...

Precisely what is your horsepower goal, and how will you be using the car (daily driver? roadracing? drag racing? autocross? drifting?)?

here is the info on the car that i am getting in terms of mods. so stock internals will last me with low boost? my future plans are to make around 800 to 1000hp but thats now a few years down the road.

422 Horse power to the rear wheels, 430 Torque on 15lbs boost 93 octane. Vehicle has been professionally maintained, castrol Sythetic oil, changed every 3000 miles. Recently painted (Lexus bodyshop) . Blitz Turbo Timer, Blitz SUS Air Filter, Blitz Nur Spec R, Blitz super sound BOV, Blitz SBC - ID, Blitz Power ID, MSD ignition 6 -AL. HKS VPC, Tial 38 mm Wastegate, Walbro 255lb fuel pump, Custom 3" down pipe, 440cc injectors, T04b Turbo master power 60 - 1, Apex: SAFC II, KYB AGX 4way shocks, fuel pressure regulator, TRD short shifter, Eibach Prokits,Blitz oil cap & radiator cap,pioneer 3 way 5 1/4" speakers & 6 1/2", pioneer head unit, Supra TT Brakes, Goodridge Stell Braided lines, I Forged 19 X 10 rear, 19 X 8 frt Wheels, horse power freaks bonze clutch, RPS pressure plate, new engine mounts, brakes,carbon fiber hood.This is a daily driver (2nd car) with sick power and speed. Never raced so I do not know what the 1/4 mile times are. This is a very clean non turbo 5 spd. Toyomoto of Miami installed single turbo with large intercooler dyno tuned and all optional equipment. complete blitz exhaust system.

Yep stock internals for the 2jz-ge will be just fine for anything the turbo that T04b turbo can put out (even at high boost). Just be sure to use an appropriate mix of high-octane race fuel when you run over about 15psi of boost. The precise tune of your ignition timing, along with the boost level you choose to run, will dictate the net/overall octane that you need. Don't forget that too much boost on pump gas will wreck even the most expensive aftermarket engine internals.

Of couse, you'll need a thicker headgasket to lower the compression (if it doesn't already have one), and you'll need more fuel than oem (bigger injectors is the preferred option). The current horsepower that you quoted pretty much maxes out those oem 440cc injectors.
