2jz-gte Vvti Help Required

Hey Guys, just trying to find out more info for my 2JZ VVT-i engine and hoping you can help.

Aparently Haltech can't vary the intake cam and feel that its a mechanical problem and nothing to do with the ECU side of things.

I have pulled out the solenoid and put 12V to it and it triggers the pluger fine. I then refitted the soleniod with the engine running and applied 12V again thinking that the engine would want to stall. This did not happen - it ran fine. I've been told by a mate who knows his Toyotas that if it didn't want to stall the solenoid is busted and to buy a new one.

Anyone care to comment on my findings? I have no issue buying a new solenoid they are cheap from Castle Hill Toyota and they even have one in stock

But if this doesn't fix it i'll be less than impressed
Oh yeah im in Australia.
Cheers

Wish I could help, but vvti Mkiv's are pretty rare here in the US. Please keep us informed of your findings...
