Default SS autochrome manifold crap??

i know that the early honda ss autochrome turbo manifolds are pretty much crap and they fall apart pretty quickly but how bad are they for the 2jz-ge?
I think have heard that they arent that bad for the 2j but i want some real life experiance before i buy...
Thanks for the input

Sam

the manifolds in my opinion for the 6cyls are fine

when you buy em.. take em to an engineer and get the rest of the slag taken out of the manifold and slap it on
A friend of mine Kevin has a mk4 supra here... he's been running one for about 2 years or so now... so make sure it's clean inside and no horrible weldy bits will go through wastegates etc

Not much help but offhand I'd say (imho) it's not worth the risk. I'd have to officially recommend that you stick with a more proven solution, like the n/a-t kits offered by phr , boostlogic, or boostwerx..

If you do end up getting an ssautochrome / obx header, please post back here and let us know your experiences. Many thanks in advance...

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
