how much would it cost to swap an auto supra to a 5 spd. using OEM parts? Is it labor intensive? Any suggestions?

why didn't u look harder for a 6 speed? i would've oh well. my cousin was going to try this on his car but decided not to. i think it does cost a lot and its going to save u lots more money if u do it yourself definetly. but if u dont know how dont try it lol

Hey, I'm in the same boat. I found a great Supra with decent miles for a decent price....everything is perfect...except that damn Auto Tranny.

So if anyone has any tips on a tranny swap to a 6-spd, please fill me in. I don't mind doing it myself, but I'm not sure how much a '95 Supra trans is, or even where to get one.

Also, is there any difference on the engine output with the Auto's? The 300Z TT automatic has smaller turbo's than the 5spd, and thus less horsepower, so doing an transmission swap on one if these leads to more headaches when trying to gain more power. Just wondering if the Supra has anything like this going on.

well um it's not the best idea cuz when u switch a auto car to a manual car the thing is the gears for a maunal car can be different i.e. my friend got a tran. switch from auto to a manual tran. and the gears for the car was messed up like when he tried to switch to 2nd to 3rd he couldn't so if u decide to make sure ur friend does a good job
