Engine won't shut off

My engine sounded so loud and wierd this morning, like the belt was going to break. Lots of squeeking from the engine. I then saw a little smoke coming from the engine somewhere and it smelt like something was burnt.

I moved my car this morning about 20 ft. and was not able to turn off my car, even with the keys out. When I turned the keys to off, the engine sounded really wierd, like it's trying to start or something. And turning the keys back to on would go back to that loud engine sound.

I read somewhere, and was wondering if there was a bad ground somewhere. Maybe thats where the burn't smell was coming from?

I couldn't turn off my car and thought me engine was going to blow. I even tried taking the main fuse out, but it went back to that sound (like its trying to start).

The engine was really acting wierd this morning. The sound was loud and not consistant.

If anyone can tell me why my cars acting like this I would greatly appreciate it.

What you're describing sounds a bit like run-on, or 'dieseling', possibly due in part to leaky injector(s).

I'd guess your engine might also have a dirty/oily accessory belt, or a partially siezed a/c compressor?

Overall, it sounds like it could be a serious issue. You might need to take it to a shop (eg. Toyota)...
