YES MKIIIs do have an intercooler stock. However the stock intercoller is not vary efficent dispite that fact the it looks big. Good up grades are HKS GReddy Spearco and a stock MK4 intercooler are all good up grades and are easy to do.

You probably should replace it, besides the fact of wether it is efficient or not, its probably still the original, and think about how many years its been in the car, eventually there gonna go bad.

stock 7mgte with stock cooler is efficient enough... where the 7m's faily badly in the intercooling system is the piping... upgrade it with hardpipes and you'll notice a nice difference ;)
