Hello everyone, I'm new to this site, Supra's and Turbos.
I purchased a 1989 Supra Turbo Targa about 4 weeks ago with about 129,000. After putting in a charcoal canister (someone took out) I will be attempting to pass smog again. I tried and passed through the tailpipe but not the visual since the charcoal canister was missing. I just want to make sure the car is running good before I even attempt to do any modding, so here's my question: I plan on doing a tune-up.....well actually having my mechanic do the major stuff so I was wondering if I covered everything. This is what I think I need: Timing belt Tensioner The other major belts Water pump Spark plugs (anyone have the specific part #) Spark plug wires Thermostat I'm sure I'm missing alot of other things. Anyone want to chime in and tell me what I'm missing. And are there any websites out there that would give me good prices for oem stuff. Should I do the head gasket and get the ARP studs while I'm at it? I've been reading alot on this forum, good info. Right now I just want a good stock running car without any problems. Thanks in advance. |
