Why MHG?
Last summer I had my head gasket replaced, nothing fancy, just a new hg. Why does everyone seem to think a MHG is a must. My car is an 89 NA with no performance mods. I recently drove from New York to Miami and back with absolutely no problems. I even had her up to 140 mph for a couple of short spurts. I have put all my money into the engine as I don't see any sense having a beautiful car that doesn't go anywhere. I hope to get some cosmetic work done soon. Am I the only person on this forum who doesn't have a MHG?

You don't need MHG. I don't, and it runs great for 3 yrs now. MHG is for use when adding HPs to a turbo motor.
