I am helping my 16-year old look for a car. We won't get one until he turns 17 in 10 or so months, but we want an idea of what we're getting. We want a 2-door car that is sporty and considerably under $10,000, like in the $4000-$7000 range. My brother and I both like the gen 3 Supra, and we want one between a 90 and a 92 year model. He isn't going to race it or drive like a maniac, he just needs a way to get around. We have looked on the internet at sites like autotrader, cars, etc. I have several questions, like: How many miles are too many?, How dependable are gen 3 Supras?, should we get the turbo or not?, what questions should we ask someone selling one?, what would you look for to tell whether or not it's been raced? I am also having trouble finding one near west Texas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
