Default My Air Flow Sensor

Well ive had this problem since a while.
My car always dies at idle
Now that i cleaned the mass air flow sensor and got a new air filter the check engine light regularly comes on and the car randomly dies whenever.

I ran a diagnosis and recieved a: flash flash flash......flash and that results to air flow

I am making sure that i am correct because i dont want to buy a $400 air flow sensor and find out that it wasnt the problem.

Any help would be appreciated Thanks!
