ok apparently the swap from 7mge to 2jz-ge is a pain. my second option is taking the 2 engines i have and building one bada$$ toy. i don't want to go turbo, i am more of a natural asperated type guy. i am thinking of, milling the head to bump the compression and getting forged rods and pistons.....does anyone know how much a stock crank can handle? if the stock crank can handle enough i would like to get it lightened so it will rap out qiucker. i already have ngk iridium plugs and msd wires and ignition box. aluminum flywheel with a stage 3 clutch. i designed my own cold air induction.......powder coating is awsome!!!!!! i would also like to get a set of cams...any recomendations? my goal is atleast 400 hp, any advice would be greatfully appreciated.

i guess it all depends on what your budget it, if there is no budget then the sky is the limit. racing pistons, rods, have the head ported and polished, you might even be able to look nto a stroker kit, i've seen them around not sure if they have them for the mkIII though. Underdrive pulleys, headers nice 2.50 exhaust with cat are a 2.25 cat without cat, injectors, and theres lots of other things.

I wish the sky was the limit....but unfortunately, it's not. There is a budget...a very tight budget. i have the 2.25 inch exhaust without cat and the factory manifold is probably as close to a hedder as u can get with out purchasing one. i am not really thinking so much on a stroker kit, the port and polish is a option that i have checked into, and for the price it is worth it for the outcome. i know thw 400 hp isn't a very far strech considering the engine is 205 stock and with what i had in it......i know it had to of been close to atleast 260, it smoked turbo eclipses and acura integras way to easy, and even beat stangs and camaros, barely but it doesn't matter how far u win by it's that u win. anyways......my goal is to get it there, and with spending as little as possible.

Well if you think you have 260 i would say that port and polishing the head would get you over 300, and underdrive pulleys would definately help, and having your computer setup to work with the parts you've added to the car would definately help. Electric fan to replace the clutch fan.

i have a 14" electric fan, but i would like to get a set of cams, and do the port and polish, along with the bump in compression. That should do something for me.

uh, no, NO, and NO WAY!!
you have a non-turbo supra w/205 and expect it to be easy to get to 400?? i want what ur smokin! for one, shes a bit heavy, for all motor, id suggest swaping into a different body. 2nd its going to take MORE money to do all motor than a turbo system to get to 400 hp. with intake, headers, port & polish(by some one with a flow bench), bored +.030 over, pulley kit, electric fan, cams and dyno tuned, you'll be lucky to get 330. you would have spent an easy 2800-3500. add 500 for nitrous and get up to 410hp.

i didn't say it was going to be an easy 400 hp, i said my goal is 400.......and i understand that it isn't cheap, but how many supras do u know of that has 400 hp non turbo? i have a lighter car, but i got bored of it and i have a mustang but it is not as fun as the supra to drive....i like something that is complicated and that everyone says i can't do it. i don't expect the car to run 10s.....i just want a car that is different from everything else around here, a car that turns head when i go by....and when i was driving this one............it turned heads and got alot of attention.....i am willing to go the distance to hit the 400 hp mark. if u think about it 3k is not that much money considering what the application is. true a turbo is cheaper, easier to modify and probably going to last longer in the long run, but that is why i don't want to go turbo.
does all of that make sense? |

is the body straight, are the airbags intact, what is blown and is it standard? if in the greatest condition, i wouldnt pay more than 1500. if it needs anyother mechanical or body work, subtract 400-600$$.
i used to be the same way about doing something complicated that no ones ever done. thats why i had a tiburon. heres the main problem, your going where other people have been and it can be done. to save a headache, money and ease turboin is just easier.

lol.....yeah i get what u are saying. the body is straight, except for a nasty little ding on the drivers side rear corner by the tail light........but i have a friend that is a hell of a body man, he said that he can fix the dent and make that paint shine like new, it is an automatic (that sucks!) but i do have plenty of spare parts and i have a cure for that. but i was checking the car out earlier after i posted what i had found, and some one has swapped out the turbo engine for a non turbo........it has a regular exhaust setup no turbo, i think someone took off the turbo and set it up regular, it still has the turbo intake and the entercooler is there.........but no turbo. i believe that just killed the value big time. i think i maight be able to get it for a $100.00, that friend of mine.......and the guy that owns the car, he owes my friend a engine and he is going to talk to him, he said if the guy will just give him the car for what is owed, he will sell it to me for a $100.00. i think that's a hell of a deal!
