Boosting my 88 7mge
i was trying to find some info on boosting my 88 7mge. i have been looking around and i have found a 7mgte for about $1250, but i didnt know if i would be better off just boosting it myself. if anyone could shed some light on this problem of mine, it would be greatly accepted. thanks

Personally i think it's easier to do a gte swap rather than fidling with custom oil lines etc to get a turbo onto the ge. Don't get me wrong, it has been done, just easier to do a full gte.
Anyone else chime in?

aww my kind of thread. boost the 7mge the transmission is better from a non turbo the gear ratios are lower that way youll get better tourque as for the oil lines there isnt any there coolant cooled.
i have all the stuff you would need to turbo a non turbo in your own garage. all you would need is the exhaust manifold, ct26, the coolant outlet, the other coolant line, and some other parts its very simple. i can take a part by part pictures of what you would need if you wanted to boost a 7mge. just let me know man or email me at travis_burleson3@hotmail.com sout mane

if you do decide on the engine swap its quite simple get a complete engine with the computers and wiring harness. that should do it. you might have to get like new starter cable and shit but that wouldnt be that hard. i still say boost the 7mge. there still forged internals. and for the price you an pick up the stuff is way less
just some work on doing it.
