86.5 Supra Low Voltage
My car died with the battery light & brake light on,muffeld radio playing and no wipers. I guessed the alt went out, I purchased a new one as well as a new battery. I installed the new parts and the car won't hold a charge, I returned the alt for a new one benched checked it...its good. the car won't charge its putting out 12.5 volts with a load and 13.1 without a load.
CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME, IM HAVING TO DRIVE THE FAMILY VAN |

Wth the new alt in place, are the lights still on? Are you checking this with the gauge on the dash, or with a calibrated multimeter? I found my gauge tends to fluctuate with the load, like it will drop .5V sometimes when I put it in reverse, and activate the back-up lights. Also, when driving at night when raining, the gauge may drop to 12V even. The first time this happened, I grabbed my multimeter, and found the charge was a strong 13.5V at idle with the headlights on.

Low Volts
When the car is idling its reading 12.6v,after searching I believe I found a short in the alt fuse socket.I will trouble shoot that next. Thanks for the help. Storm
