 Does anyone have ideas on how to preserve new or used mouldings on 87&88's I'm thinking that there must be a solution or treatment that can be put on to prevent the metal backings from rusting causing the warp. One suggestion that has been given is to apply a rust proofing grease on the back before putting them on, as well as not using the two way tape except for the last little bit by the door handle. All ideas very welcome. There has to be a way to preserve these very expensive mouldings. I primarily concerned with the doors. Thanks for any replies......TT

They do have stuff you can by yourself and simply paint it on with a brush or a roller, one item i know of is por 24, of course you would tape up everything you don't want that stuff on.

Is it warping from Sun exposure or from the metal?

Thanks for the replies kwnate and KingDiamond. kwnate I believe it is from the metal because the moulding is in pretty good shape but it's lifting a little and just starting to warp a little on the bottom of the moulding. KingDiamond could I just paint the por 24 along the inside of the moulding then have clipped into the door like they would normally be put on? All replies welcome thanks....TT

you should be able to, the stuff is suppose to stop rust forever. you can even paint it right over the rust, and it is suppose to lock it in.
