2jz-gte swap questions
Hey guys im not sure if im in the right forum for this or if you guys could point me in the right direction. i have a '71 toyota hilux pick-up that i want to swap a a 2jzgte into. i need to know what im going to have to do to make the motor work in my truck. making the motor fit, the chassis and suspension is not a problem. im looking for what i will have to do to make the motor run correctly. i dont need any crazy amounts of horsepower right away since the truck will weigh around 2600 pounds. im completely new to computer controlled engines. i have been looking at the japan import motors on places like ebay. something with an uncut harness, ecu and auto tranny. anything will help because im sure its more than i know about these engines. thanks in advance. Cool Hand Customs.

hey
i think you need the standard tranny fron the truck and the bell housing from a w58 and complete wiring harness and i think the oil pan is a issue

i will run the auto tranny from the supra along with the JDM computer and harness for the 2jz. i am building the whole chassis so i can work around the oil pan. i was just wondering what other kind of stuff i will need besides fuel system, radiator and stuff like that.

I found this site years ago before my '90 Yota truck was lost to a retaining wall. They have some good resource guides to putting Supra engines in various trucks. Supracharged: Supracharged.com - The Official Toyota Supra Swap Site - Supra 7MGTE, 2JZGTE conversions and more
P.S. I now have a Supra, and am hell bent on keeping it running strong! |
