You can drift only by popping your auto shifter into the second gear and performing a faint manuver which is just throwing the weight around of your car and hammering the throttle.
I dont know if wanting to drift a mk4 is your best option, especially an auto one, wouldn't want you to smash it up since you are just starting to drift. |

Nice it sounds like a great car and will and can always be better. There is no rule that says you can't drift it, I just personally never would. I think there too pretty and the value of them is way expensive, some are worth more now then when they were produced in the factory. I thought about drifting my mk3, and then realized I would feel much better making it nice and throwing horsepower at it then potentially smash it up. So I have the mk3 and I bought a 240sx 5 spd to serve my drifting needs. I also have an fcRX7 on the way too.
That's crazy about the price to switch to a getrag 6 spd, is that quote just for parts to do it yourself? or is labour included for a shop to do it? |

Boombastc, I love the RX7s. I use to own a 85 GSL on of the best cars ever. For drifting in a automatic check out one of the NOPI drifters. He uses a 350Z auto real crazy. I at least think he is with NOPI drift. But the car is beast. Check out how he does it.
