Low Compression
I just talked to my mechanic and he told me that the number 3 cylinder on my 7MGE has low compression. The head gasket was just replaced with an aftermarket metalic one, the head was milled and toqued on to about 70-75lbs. The car is also burning a quart of oil every 500 miles or so. He says the problem is related to the piston ring and I tend to agree with him but I don't want to replace the engine (which is what he is recommending). Any suggestions?

Don't worry yet. It's not necessary to replace engine. Probably, change of piston rings will help. If the cylinder is bad, you'll need to bore engine block and replace pistons+rings on o/s 0,5mm
