I finally check my diagnose system with one peice of paper clip. Easy as heck
Well, the hard part was that it was confusing knowing how to read the code. It goes like this. flash, flash.....flash, flash.....flash, flash, flash, flash, flash.....flash, flash Does that read 22 & 52 ????? If it is than I think it's the water temp and the oxygen sensor...something like that...anyone know whats wrong? Thanks! |

you got it
22 & 52 22 check the overal condition of your water temp sensor and wire.... should be the green two pin plug... make sure the wire is still firmly connected and not earthing out anywhere 52 welcome to the faulty knock sensor world (does your car feel sluggish and throw the check engine light and just be a pain in the ass :P) check the wiring and the plug on both of your knock sensors... make sure they are firmly connected and dont feel lose try resetting the ecu and recheck for these codes (you gotta go for a drive again to store codes) i'll go thru the annoying knock sensor problem more in depth when we determine you definitely have a ks problem

Thanks for your help Suprra_girl. But umm, can you point to me where the green pin is and where the knock sensor is at, too?
Yeah, when I'm driving around 40-50 mph, my car feel fluggish like you said. It makes me feel so uncomftable. Also, when the check engine light comes on, my car loses power. Doesn't have the fast accleration that it normally does. So, yeah if you can please give me a clue where the green plug is and where the knock sensor is. Also, isn't the knock sensor the same as the coolant sensor? Or are they different names and different problems? Cause like two months ago I took it to a prestones shop and the mechanic over there told me it was the knock sensor but than the toyota people told me it isn't. Someone is liying...I'm gonna hurt them soon, for making me losing money. <_< I'll go check it out when I get a reply from you. Again, thankyou for your help! |

green plug is on the side of teh thermostat housing, if you look between the power steering bracket and thermostat housing you will see the sensors down there
knock sensors are located under the intake manifold on the block, one is between #1 & 3 and the 2nd one is between 4 & 6 cylinders and no they are not the same thing have fun

Hmmm, kind of confusing :P
I don't know much about engines, so if you got any pics showing where those two sensor's are, please post them up. If you don't than it's okay, I'll try my best to look for them. Thanks! |

sorry i took so long bud
if you get your hand under the front of the intake manifold (make sure engine cold or you'll get burnt lol) feel around on the block... just at the frontish... you will feel a plug in the block... the only one up there i think... the other one is slightly in front and above the starter motor the temp sensor is green plug on thermostat housing... only green one on there... i'll get pics as soon as i can

I'll do that. But I'm kind of having a hard time knowing where they are located at until I see some pics. And like I say, if you don't have any pics than thats fine. I'll try to look for it myself. But thanks for the help
