please help quick!!!
Hey I am new here and this is my first post. I will introduce myself later. I am looking at a 1988 supra non-turbo. It has 102,000 miles on it and in decent shape however, the owner said that the fuel pump is bad and needs a new one. He said that the car sat for a while because the fuel pump was bad and he didn't have time or money to fix it. Then he bought a new pump and he said, since it had set for while that when he started running it again the new fuel pump went bad. What do yall think? I am suppose to look at it again tomorrow. Any questions I need to ask? Do you guys believe the engine itself will be fine from the description of the owner? He said if you manual put fuel into the engine it will crank right up. He is asking around 1500 but he said if I buym the fuel pump and get it installed myself he will lower the price. Is it worth it? I love supras but i don't want to waste money. Thanks please respond back as soon as you can.

Is not advisable to buy any vehicle without driving it, especially without hearing the engine running. Its not usual for an old fuel pump to fail if its been standing for a long period. You shouldn’t have a problem with a new one, unless it’s one of the two relays. (one controls the power and the other the speed) On the UK model; one is in the passenger side kick panel and the other next to the fuel pump resister under the hood.. As you probably know, to replace the pump you will need to drop the fuel tank.
