ok, ive read many entries about the bhg process (im in the middle of my first attempt), and most always stress the importance of the head being close to a mirror finish, my question is, what about the block? im going with the toyota stock gasket (im not a racer, n/a turbo) my point is, is cleaning the block good enough? the surface seems to be in good shape. i havent checked for warpage yet, but will next. also, are there any other bolts that need to be torqued to a specific number other than the head bolts? thanks
ps to supra girl, if your out there, thanks for the info earlier, of course you were right, nasty bhg around #6 |

Block has to be as good as the head. Someone on these forums has photos of what he had to do, he lapped the block with special tools and compound to get it very very smooth.
Keep in mind it all really depends on what amount of boost you're going to be running, more boost, the more attention you have to give to the HG. |
