can i use 5x112 bolt pattern rim

so the 89 supra has a 5x114 bolt pattern. i found a set of rims that i like, but the bolt pattern is 5x112.. will that fit on my supra?? i'm not sure if that's even a big differnece in size...??

suprakillz 12-10-2009 01:47 AM

no you cant, not really

so i found out that a different bolt pattern rim other the the one recommended could fit the 89 supra (5x114.3). but once you torque the lug nuts down they could brake the studs off. they can brake off when you are torquing the lug nuts down, or when you are driving:nono:. so in other words, just stick with the 5x114 pattern for the 89 supra... so with that said, i am now selling a set of 18" chrome ADR rims with a 5x112 bolt pattern. $450

5x4.5 , 5x115 and 5x114.3 will all work nothing else !!!!

Actually, anything other than 114.3 can cause problems, even 115. I have known people who have had them machined to work as the difference is minimal, but I'm not going to recommend it.

suprakillz 12-10-2009 02:42 AM

yeah, i almost found that out the hard way. the thing is tho, that you can fit the rim on to the studs, and then you can get tempted to torque them down.

only time i have ever had a problem with using 5x114.3 is when the car called for 5x115 or vice versa and i was using an ET style lugnut

if it takes a conical lug it never has been a problem for me
ive done this with over 100 wheels sales in the last 2 years not one comeback

also 5x 4.5 is the exact sae equivelent of 5x115

Get what is called for, if u happen to put something make sure that u get the adapter plat that changes the bolt pattern (forgot the name).

yeah, i think i'll just buy rims with the right bolt pattern, and just keep it on the safe side.

will 350z rims fit i belive there 5x114

cre 02-10-2010 02:12 AM

There is no such thing as 5x114 that I've ever seen.... it's 5x114.3. And yes, the 350Z is 5x114.3.
