Hey guys/gals, have any of you bought a performance chip for your Supra? I saw one at horsepowerfreaks.com for around a hundred bucks and was wondering if it would actually do anything noticeable.
Thanks.

i had my ecu reflashed, but a performance chip just changes the maps for the car...into...performance mode, they should do some noticeable differences as long as you at least have bpu, otherwise they dont do much but add minimal power

I wouldn't do it, because everytime you change something, you have to get a new one. If you get a piggyback ECU, you can alter the tune as you improve the car. It cost more, but in the long run...

yea thats true...but since i have a reflashed ecu i dont have to work to hard in tuning the car since the map is already setup for performance...if you get a performance chip and a piggyback...it will make tuning a little easier, but then again ur spending a little more

Thanx for the feeback, but I'm not thinkin long term with this engine. I've decided to swap it out once I move to Texas (bout a year or so).

then its not worth it....dont go for a performance chip...unless ur swapping the same motor back into the car...if its a different motor its not worth it
