3000 GT

I'm just wondering. Between a 3000GT and a MKIII, would you trade for it straight up or no? How bout if it was 3000GT VR4?

I like the looks of 3000GT's and I'm wanting to get one, probably trade in my Supra for it but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Plus, I heard that they are not all that strong or powerful. If they are in highways, they are fine but they ain't no Supra's.

Just asking for opinions, so don't start jumping on me.

Cause I'm for sure, an MKIII can whip a 3000GT stock for stock any days of the week, that's why no 3000GT owners ever wants to raced with me when they come up to me

I think u should go for it cuzz if u have a MK3 then hell yeah DO IT! A VR4 can be tuned up very well and has alot of potential....My friend Herm's has one and he worked on it for about 4 months and hes hitting 10 to 11 secs in the 1/4....but if ur trading an MK4 for a 3000 then thats a different story....I LOVE MK4's....but i heard 3000GT parts are more expensive than MK3's...but its up to u

Those 3000's are front wheel drive. I drove one once. Bright red. Twin turbo with $10K of mods. I was selling cars at the Dodge Dealer. A guy traded it in for a tricked out 4x4 V-10 truck( $40K)
I took that 3000 out for a spin. I was watching the tach (cause I did not want to break something). I was getting on the freeway on a long, sweeping on ramp. Peddle to the medal. I was in 2nd gear, coming up on redline, and I looked over at the speedo (cause it seemed like I was going real fast), and it said 90mph.
So, I backed way off, cause I did NOT want to have to call my boss and say "please come get me out of jail". I took it back and parked it. It sold 3 days later for $27K. (the dealer gave the guy $19K trade-in).

The VR-4's will beat a supra off the line everytime, mod it and... Got a vid of a MkIV supra getting toasted by one...

You can also get a Dodge Stealth. But...the engine form what i understand isn't up to the same standards as a Toyota... The V6 in the 3000GT is the same V6 used in all of dodge's vans, ect...

Personally, if your supra is in good shape, you've taken care of the HG, and it's a turbo model, I'd keep the Supra, or go after a MKIV :lol:

VR-4 is also all wheel drive twin turbo. It's also HEAVY...

mrnickleye, if it was twin turbo then its gonna be awd...all the vr4's came in twin turbo awd form, if i had a choice...it would be hard between a vr4 and a turbo supra...but i would probably end up goin wit the supra...

no its not VR4 are all wheel drive and all wheel stear,my TT stealth(exact same as 300gt)will eat me mk4 TT(atleast for now)

Ummm guys, I've ask to trade for a 3000GT one, not the VR4. I know I said VR4 but that's in my dream :P

I almost bought a VR4 last year when I didn't have my Supra but it cost like $12k, so I was like f**k it.

I love Supras. For one, they are reliable. I don't think the 3000GT or VR4 are reliable. Say if you were to travel from NY to California with those two cars, I'd be scared to travel in a VR4. <_<

But yeah, I'll see. If I ever find a nice good looking 3000GT, I might trade in my Supra. I'll just buy another MKIII and also get an MKIV in the next generation.

By then, I'll have a 3000GT (VR4?), MKIII, and an MKIV. If the new Supra ever comes out, I'll get that one too.

Now that, I can dig it!

ick, not a VR-4? hell no, they're PIGS without the turbos. Might look cool, but if you want to look cool go get a pink caddy with the huge wings :lol:
