just on the off chance you missed something
check the 30 amp RTR fuse. and the grounds for the headlight retractor plugs to the retracor computer. just for good measure before you start shelling out some money.

The dash light won't light up and the climate control will go dark when the marker's or the headlights are on if the dimmer is burned out or disconnected. To test this one part just pull the dimmer out and jumper the white wire with black stripe to the white wire with green stripe.
As for the headlights, I'd start with testing the switch. The headlights on our cars will turn off after the car is turned off if you open the door. If this isn't happening, then I's skip the switch and head straight to the relay.

Doesn't ding... they should just turn off (but remain up) once you open the door. I don't know that this ever changed... was the same on my '93 MR2 and is the case on my '88 and my friend's '90.

Hey Green7mgte, thx for the tip. After checking everything out I finally found the problem. My breaker kicked out so I just reset it n everything is gravy again...
I can't believe such a simply problem could cause so much headache. Thx again bro.. |

I spoke too soon. It seems that everything is working until I start the engine. If I have my headlights on when the start the engine they stay on but when I turn them off they won't come on again. Then when I disconnect and reconnect the battery everything works again until I turn on the engine..
WTF!!!! Is this faulty headlight switch as green7mgte mention before?? I have taken out all my extra electrical components and still same result.... Anybody???? |
