1984 Supra Rattle
Forgive me if this has been posted.
Recently I came into a 1984 Toyota Supra in above average condition. Shortly after purchasing it, I was pulling into a parking lot and heard a metal on metal racket and parked it. I replaced the main bearings, and tried again. No love. To make a long story short I did my best to fix anything that could be causing the problem. (and I spent time on ebay etc buying new parts) I even replaced the lifters thinking that one had gone bad. (Keep in mind my fathers Supra had double my miles without seeing a failure) I got a 1984 Supra with 100k miles for 500 bucks because it had been in storage and the oil passage to lifters was clogged. (and the key was in the back seat etc etc) IMO I still got a gem of a car for nothing. I am not sure the lesson, but I am still stupid happy to have my Supra. Des |
