Just wondering what sort of oil everyone is running. I was running Penrite HRP10 but I am just about to put in some Motul TurboLite...will let everyone know how it goes..Running 1JZ with stock turbos and bigger cooler with HKS cams!

hehe i'm a cheep ass at the mo running shell helix 20-50 lol
i prefer it a little thicker anyhow since i get the engine rather hot so the oil would naturally thin out a bit i have run motul in the car but didn't really get to enjoy it much... blew the hg lol.. apparently awesome stuff tho i will be switching to magnatec tho... what do ya think of that? mmmm hks cams... like the dirty ones we have on our shelf at the workshop LOL... we were gonna buy cam gears to go with them but apparently you run into a problem with timing as the ecu tries to correct it all the time and therefore ends up in limp mode.... true or wives tale?

i dont see why it would go into limp mode...the cam gears are fixed therefor i dont see how it would make any difference to timing..are you talking about a 1J or your 7M? With the 1JZ the crank angle sensor is actually on the crank so i doubt it would make any difference to that..even i the 7M i dont see it being a problem. Are you going to run the cams on a stock ECU or aftermarket..it could possibly be a problem with the stock ECU because of the bigger duration cams but if its aftermarket i dont see a problem..mine run fine! Motul turned out to be pretty good stuff...the highest number on the oil is how thin it goes when hot..so if you are worried about your oil thinning out you should get the lowest number possible..i would only run a thicker oil if i had a stupidly high oil consumption.
