i just bought a 1980 supra and just wanted to know if the motor parts is compatible with any other years besides 78-81

As it's an M series engine many components may fit with minor work but I dare not speculate as to which. I wouldn't expect anything beyond the 5M components to fit without a good amount of headache. You may have more luck finding info at CelicaSupra.com.
